Monika, Munna

This spider gives severe jolts to the love birds who want to indulge in endless enjoyment.

An isolated island without any human presence and a bungalow with only the cook and watchman.  Munna and Monica who are yet to taste the first sensation of intimacy after their wedding.

With great expectations of being absorbed in each other, they enter the bungalow.  At their height of romantic mood, a thudding noise. This intervention baffles both the love birds in the bedroom and the audience and reveals a watchman more stiff that his uniform, standing at the door.  The background score informs the audience that this is a horror film.

Their honeymoon takes a beating when that mysterious image that appears only to Monica, shakes up Munna once.  Is it a he or a she or an it?  The thrill builds up to answer it in the climax.

When the audience is having a feast of glamour not exposed by Monica hitherto, why should Munna be an exception.  He indulges in it to the extreme.

Monica deserves credit for not only being attractive, but also changing expressions easily from shock to other emotions on her face.

The new face Chandru who is an important character in the film excels in his role and will have a bright future in the industry.  Seeking an LIC policy to save the family from suffering and falling prey to women software professionals, Chandru earns our sympathy.

Chandhru

Though the ragging scenes are disgusting, the newspaper evidence the director reveals in the climax makes us believe that caution is very necessary.  The director happens to be a media person, he deserves to be congratulated on choosing a subject that is very important to the society.  However, the elongated 'blue' scenes could have been cut short.

Fear chases the audience with the help of Fauzia's cinematography and Karthick's background score.

Dropping words like 'beautiful' at every turn, the dialogues of the newly wed is tedious.  What gets the applause are dialogues like, "They poured a bucketful of water, keeping the cotton wool and fire together."

The scenes that beat logic are reporting the death of the watchman who is living well and the mysterious figure trying to kill Monica who had not done anything wrong.

Fear entangles in this 'Silandhi'.
